Hello guys! The new challenge on Create a Smile blog is focused on one of my favorite techniques: creating your own background. There are so many ways to customize a background for a card - such as stenciling, stamping, embossing, coloring, die cutting... and so on.

Ciao a tutti! La nuova sfida sul blog di Create a Smile è focalizzata su una delle mie tecniche preferite: creare sfondi personalizzati. Ci sono tantissimi modi per farlo, per esempio utilizzando stencil, timbrando ripetutamente, embossando, colorando, fustellando... e così via.

Today I'm sharing a card in which I stamped my background using geometric images from Clear Going Graphic stampset and a specific color palette that I saw in a beautiful store. In fact, the first thing I did was choosing the inks for the card: mint, yellow and grey. I used 3 different triangles to built my background and create a sort of pattern. 

Oggi vi mostro una card in cui ho timbrato il mio sfondo utilizzando immagini geometriche dal set Clear Going Graphic e una color palette specifica che ho visto accostata in un bellissimo negozio di home decor. Infatti, la prima cosa che ho fatto è stata scegliere i tamponi per la card: menta, giallo e grigio. Ho utilizzato 3 diversi triangoli per costruire il mio sfondo e creare una sorta di pattern.

Then I stamped the hyppo from Clear Served Up! stampset with Memento Tuxedo black ink and coloured it with promarkers. 

Poi ho timbrato l'ippopotamo dal set Clear Served Up! con dell'inchiostro Memento nero e l'ho colorato con i promarkers. 

Then I fussy cut it and the sentiment, that I previously stamped on a piece of grey cardstock that I cut in few strips. Finally I glued everything down, adding a piece of vellum between the background and the other elements to make them pop even more.

Quindi ho ritagliato sia l'animaletto che il sentiment, preventivamente timbrato su del cartoncino grigio che ho ritagliato in più strisce. Ho incollato il tutto sulla base, aggiungendo del vellum tra lo sfondo e gli altri elementi della card così da farli risaltare ancora di più.

Hello there! No Halloween cards today, but a Winter/Holiday scene full of magic and stamping with Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps! I went for a no-coloring card: I built my layers by stamping, embossing and adding Nuvo Drops.

Ciao a tutti! Nessuna card di Halloween oggi, ma una scena invernale/natalizia piena di magia e di timbrate con Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps! Ho scelto di realizzare una card senza colorazione, costruendo i miei livelli con timbrate, embossing e Nuvo Drops.

I started by stamping a ton of wood slices from Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps onto a piece of beige cardstock, using a light brown ink pad. 

Prima di tutto ho timbrato un bel po' di cortecce di Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps su del cartoncino beige, utilizzando dell'inchiostro marrone chiaro.

Then I picked the Buck and Doe - set of 2 and I stamped the two deers in the center of the panel, using a darker brown ink pad.

Poi ho preso il set di due renne e le ho timbrate al centro del pannello, utilizzando dell'inchiostro marrone più scuro.

Next I heat embossed the sentiment "Believe in magic" by stamping each line separately: I wanted to have 3 strips of paper to pop up at the bottom of the base. I used some Versamark ink and covered everything with white embossing powder, then melted and cut everything.

Dopo ho embossato la scritta "Believe in magic" timbrando ogni riga separatamente: ho voluto ricavare così 3 strisce di cartoncino rosso, da incollare a rilievo nella parte bassa della card. Ho utilizzato del Versamark ed ho coperto il tutto con della polvere bianca, che ho poi fuso e ritagliato.

Finally I added some white Nuvo Drops on the background - and a red glitter one on the nose of the deer! 

Infine ho aggiunto qualche Nuvo Drops bianca sullo sfondo - e una goccia di rosso glitterato sul naso della renna!

First I stamped a bunch of solid leaves by Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps with all the colors I could find in the Kaleidacolor "Tomato Vine" inkpad by Imagine. I love all the different shades of autumn colors!

Prima di tutto ho timbrato un bel po' di foglie di Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps con tutti i colori presenti nel pad Kaleidacolor "Tomato Vine" di Imagine. Adoro tutte le sfumature di colori autunnali!

Then I picked the Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" pad and I stamped the sentiment on a piece of white cardstock. Finally I glued everything onto a piece of black cardstock.

Poi ho preso il Versafine Clair "Morning Mist" e ho timbrato la scritta su del cartoncino bianco. Infine ho incollato il tutto su del cartoncino nero.

Hello everyone! It's time to think of the Holiday Season, but it seems like I have a thing for Halloween this year. In fact today I'm back with another spooky card featuring Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps supplies. The whole card is made by 2 colors only: purple and black!

Ciao a tutti! E' tempo di pensare al Natale, ma sembra proprio che quest'anno mi sia impuntata su Halloween. Infatti oggi sono qui a condividere un'altra card inquietante realizzata con i prodotti di Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps. I colori utilizzati sono solo due: viola e nero!

I took a piece of grey cardstock and Wilted Violet Distress Oxide as well as Black Soot Distress Ink. I covered all the panel with the Wilted Violet, adding some shading on the edges with Black Soot.

Sono partita da del cartoncino grigio scuro, a cui ho abbinato il Distress Oxide Wilted Violet e il Distress Ink Black Soot. Ho coperto tutto il pannello con l'inchiostro viola, aggiungendo sui bordi dell'inchiostro nero.

I set it aside to dry completely before the next step: heat embossing. I chose two stamps by Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps that I thought could work well together: a solid bat and a spooky "Happy Haunting" sentiment.

Ho aspettato che il cartoncino asciugasse completamente prima di passare allo step successivo: l'embossing a caldo. Ho scelto due timbri di Crackerbox & So Suzy Stamps che ho pensato potessero funzionare insieme: un pipistrello e un augurio dall'effetto piuttosto spaventevole.

Ciao amici! E' già tempo di una nuova sfida sul blog di Create a Smile Stamps e si tratta di giocare con la mia stagione preferita: l'autunno! Adoro ogni cosa di questo periodo dell'anno, specialmente i colori che tingono i paesaggi.



While I was looking through my stash for a "fall" stampset, I saw these beautiful trees from the "Clear Scene Builders" stampset and I decided to play with them and create my own color palette. I stamped a bunch of them with Memento Tuxedo Black ink and I colored them with Promarker pens in warm colors.

Mentre stavo cercando tra i miei timbri qualcosa di "autunnale", ho visto questo bellissimi alberelli dal set "Clear Scene Builders" e ho deciso di utilizzarli, colorandoli con una palette di colori ad hoc. Ho timbrato un po' di alberi con dell'inchiostro Memento nero e li ho colorati con i colori caldi dell'autunno grazie ai Promarkers.

Ciao a tutti e... buon Snarktober Fest (non saprei proprio tradurlo al meglio)! Oggi partecipo a questo evento dai toni irriverenti con una card realizzata grazie ai materiali di Crackerbox Palace & So Suzy Stamps - che, tra l'altro, ha una notevole selezione di timbri "snarky":

I love snarky cards on clean&simple backgrounds, so I chose my sentiment and only a couple of images to combine with.

Mi piacciono le card irriverenti quando hanno uno stile molto semplice, per cui ho scelto un sentiment e solo un paio di immagini da abbinare.



I stamped the wine glass multiple times on a piece of white cardstock using the beautiful "Mint to be" pad from Catherine Pooler. Then I stamped the sentiment on the right of the panel, using a MISTI tool for a bold impression.

Ho timbrato i bicchieri di vino più volte su del cartoncino bianco, utilizzando la bellissima tinta di colore "Mint to be" di Catherine Pooler. In seguito ho timbrato l'augurio sulla destra, utilizzando il MISTI per ottenere una timbrata molto decisa.


Then I stamped the wine bottle on a piece of white cardstock with Memento Tuxedo Black ink in order to color with Promarker pens. I stamped the small wine grape on the label of the bottle, filling it with a gold gel pen.

Ho poi timbrato anche la bottiglia di vino su del cartoncino bianco con del Memento nero, così da poterlo poi colorare con i Promarkers. Ho anche aggiunto un piccolo grappolo d'uva sull'etichetta della bottiglia, che ho poi riempito con della penna gel oro.



Finally I put everything together, adding some Nuvo Glitter drops here and there. Plus, Crackerbox Palace & So Suzy Stamps are putting snarky stamps on sale for 15% off from October 10th to October 14th!

Infine ho messo tutto insieme, aggiungendo qualche Nuvo drops qua e là. In più, Crackerbox Palace & So Suzy Stamps hanno i timbri snarky scontati del 15% dal 10 ottobre al 14!

Hello guys! Today I'm sharing a no-spooky Halloween card, made with a cute stamp from Crackerbox Palace & So Suzy Stamps, on which I added some details. These children are so cute to focus for Thanksgiving cards, but I decided to change them a little bit for a totally different Halloween card.

Ciao a tutti! Oggi voglio condividere un'altra card per Halloween, ma stavolta non è nulla di spaventevole: si tratta di un timbro di Crackerbox Palace & So Suzy Stamps, su cui ho aggiunto qualche dettaglio. Questi due ragazzi sono troppo carini per biglietti del Ringraziamento, ma ho deciso di cambiarli un pochino per una card di Halloween diversa dal solito.

First I stamped the Pumpkin Patch with Memento ink and I coloured the image with Promarker pens. I fussy cut and I drew eyes and mouth on two of the pumpkins, covering everything with a black gel pen.

Prima di tutto ho timbrato i ragazzi con le zucche con dell'inchiostro Memento, colorandoli poi con i Promakers. Li ho ritagliati ed ho disegnato occhi e bocca a due zucche, ricoprendo i dettagli a matita con una penna gel nera.

Next I took a piece of kraft cardstock and I die cut half of a circle with the Big Shot. I stamped the sentiment with Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.

In seguito ho preso del cartoncino kraft ed ho fustellato metà cerchio con la Big Shot. Ho timbrato la scritta con dell'inchiostro Versamark e l'ho embossata con della polvere bianca.
