Hi everyone! Today I'm sharing with you this rainbow card I made for So Suzy Stamps.

I took inspiration from this new sentiment (see here all the June Release):

While I was going through all my stamps trying to find the most suitable one, I decided to make something different using only a die.

Something circular and colorful like life is. And what about rainbow colours?

Ciao a tutti! Oggi sono sul blog di So Suzy Stamps con una nuova card, versione rainbow.

La mia ispirazione deriva direttamente dal sentiment (potete trovare la rassegna della Release di giugno qui).

Stavo facendo passare i timbri alla ricerca di qualcosa che si adattasse meglio all'augurio, quando ho avuto una folgorazione ed ho deciso di creare qualcosa di completamente diverso. Qualcosa di circolare e colorato, un po' come è la vita. E...se avessi inserito i colori dell'arcobaleno?

Let's see how I made my card with some step by step instructions. 

First of all, I die cut 2 different circles from 2 pieces of white cardstock. I only took the smaller one and the other piece of die cut cardstock. I cut another piece of dark grey cardstock, slightly smaller then the white one.

Ecco in breve il procedimento che ho seguito per creare questa card molto semplice, ma d'effetto.

Prima di tutto, ho fustellato 2 cerchi da 2 cartoncini bianchi. Ho usato solo il cerchio più piccolo e il cartoncino fustellato più grande, tagliando poi un altro cartoncino grigio scuro di misura leggermente inferiore.

Then I just look at the leftovers I had in my stash. I was looking for different shades of red, orange, yellow, green, turquoise, blue and violet cardstocks, following the rainbow combination. Then I die cut some of them with a little butterfly die.

Poi ho fatto una cosa che mi dà sempre soddisfazione: ho fatto passare tutti i rimasugli di carta e cartoncino, anche quelli "troppo piccoli per essere usati". Ho cercato diverse tinte di rosso, arancione, giallo, turchese, blu e viola: i colori dell'arcobaleno. Poi ne ho tagliati alcuni con una piccola fustella a farfalla.

At the end, I assembled my card: I glue down the grey cardstock on a white cardstock in order to have a top folding squared card. Then, I sticked down the die cut piece of white cardstock and also the white circle after stamping the sentiment with some Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.

At this point, I had to place all of the butterflies in the grey gap, paying attention on the final result. When I was satisfied, I just glue down all the butterflies (they were approximately 40), trying to let their wings pop up.

Alla fine ho assemblato il tutto: ho incollato il cartoncino grigio su quello bianco, creando così una card di formato quadrato. Ho usato del biadesivo per incollare sia il cartoncino bianco esterno sia il cerchio all'interno, dopo aver stampato l'augurio usando del Memento Tuxedo Black.

A questo punto, ho posizionato tutte le farfalle nello spazio grigio, facendo attenzione all'effetto finale. Una volta soddisfatta, ho incollato tutte le farfalle (più o meno 40), cercando di farle aderire solo al centro per lasciare le ali libere.

The card is ready... ehm, not yet. I had to add some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter Pen all over the butterflies.

La card è finita... ehm, non ancora. Ho dovuto aggiungere un tocco di Clear Wink of Stella sulle farfalle. Riuscite a vedere quanto brillano alla luce del sole?

I think that this colour combination is fantastic. In my opinion, the tips for adding some interest are: 

1. Let the butterflies fly;

2. Change butterflies' directions;

3. Have patience

Penso che questa combinazione di colori sia davvero bellissima. Secondo me, i trucchi sono:

1. "Far volare" le farfalle, ovvero piegare le ali e lasciarle libere;

2. Cambiare spesso la direzione delle farfalle;

3. Avere pazienza
